Tremblay novel “The Cabin at the End of the World,” the film focuses on a gay couple (played by Jonathan Groff and Ben Aldridge) who take their daughter Wen (Kristen Cui) on vacation in a remote cabin in the middle of the woods. While there, Wen encounters a group of strangers led by the mysterious Leonard (Dave Bautista), who eventually break into the cabin and hold the family hostage and give them a startling message: The world is about to end, and the only way to save it is for the three to choose to make the “ultimate sacrifice....

“Arcane” is developed and produced by Riot Games in partnership with Fortiche Productions, the Paris-based animation studio that was behind several of Riot Games’ most popular music videos, game cinematics, and other “League of Legends” advertisements. “Arcane” marks Riot’s first foray into television. Per Netflix, the show is set in the utopian region of Piltover and the oppressed underground of Zaun, the story follows the origins of two iconic League champions-and the power that will tear them apart....

The respective Grammy winners were almost cast in “Mad Max: Fury Road,” according to New York Times writer Kyle Buchanan’s book, “Blood, Sweat & Chrome: The Wild and True Story of ‘Mad Max: Fury Road,’” now excerpted in Vulture. Per Netflix, Season 2 of the coming-of-age comedy will follow Indian American teenager Devi (Maitreyi Ramakrishnan) as she continues to deal with the everyday pressures of high school and drama at home, while also navigating new romantic relationships. The Season 2 trailer teases that Devi will face some competition via a new student — “another Indian girl who is prettier, cooler,” Devi exclaims with dismay in the trailer. “Never Have I Ever” is created and executive produced by Kaling (“The Office”), with Lang Fisher serving as co-creator, executive producer, showrunner and writer....

The source material tells an existential horror story about mysterious and rapid aging occurring on a beach, where a group of tourists seem unable to leave. Shyamalan has assembled a great international cast, including Gael García Bernal, Eliza Scanlen, Thomasin McKenzie, Aaron Pierre, Alex Wolff, Vicky Krieps, Abbey Lee, Embeth Davidtz, and Rufus Sewell. The film shot around the Dominican Republic (a first for Shyamalan), and was originally set to release February 26 before the pandemic led to a delay....

The vague yet haunting threat is mostly lost on Mark, but it’s clear to viewers. Lumon — the massive, mysterious conglomerate Mark and Ms. Cobel work for — has created its own little circle of hell: the “severed” floor, where a select group of employees volunteer to bifurcate their memories between what happens at work and what happens at home. That means when Mark starts the day sitting in the parking lot, weeping uncontrollably, he has no memory of why (or that he was even crying) by the time he takes the elevator down to the windowless bowels of his office....

According to figures provided by Netflix, the fifth season of the series has been watched for 107.39 million hours since its premiere on November 9. Previously, it was reported that the show was watched by over 1.1 million viewers in the United Kingdom on its launch day. Even more impressively, that figure from Overnights.tv only counts people who watched the show via TV, meaning those who watched via a laptop, tablet or cell phone weren’t included in the figure....

CBS hosted a panel to promote the show, which will premiere on February 7 after the Super Bowl, during the network’s virtual session on Wednesday at the Television Critics Association 2021 Winter Press Tour. Queen Latifah spoke at the panel alongside series co-creators Andrew Marlowe and Terri Miller. The upcoming show marks the latest in a string of “Equalizer” reboots.
