The time-traveling drama is set in Laos and follows a ghost that can transport an aging hermit (Yannawoutthi Chanthalungsy) to the moment of his mother’s death, 50 years prior....

You can’t totally blame the Nees for leaning heavily on their ensemble. In a slapdash comedy filled with big punchlines — and even bigger explosions — they’ve assembled a couple of the best comedic personalities available in Sandra Bullock and Channing Tatum. The pair portray noted romance novelist Loretta Sage and her steamy cover model Alan as her franchise’s Fabio-inspired champion, Dash. After a string of best sellers, the jaded Loretta would rather her storybook career just end....

Now, though, it’s hard to remember what all the fuss was about. Considering the landscape of both books and television, it’s hard not to feel like a TV series devoted to Brown’s character is arriving a few years past its expiration date. Even worse is the fact that Brown’s novel “The Lost Symbol” was initially planned to be the third Hanks feature before the switch to “Inferno.” That change might be telling us something about the source material we’re watching....

Peacock has now released the full, never-before-seen clip for all Dunder Mifflinites to enjoy....

The next episode of the long-running cartoon, “The Sound of Bleeding Gums,” follows Lisa Simpson as she tracks down the deaf son of her favorite saxophone player and helps him get a cochlear implant. The episode is notable for including sequences of American Sign Language (despite characters only having four fingers), as well as casting deaf actor John Autry II to voice the character. When the episode airs this Sunday, Autry will be the first deaf performer to voice a character on the show....

Variety revealed the long-running cartoon’s latest political bit, from the upcoming episode “Treehouse of Horror XXXI,” on Tuesday. The new scene shows Homer at a polling location, confident in all of his voting decisions sans the presidential vote. A mask-clad Lisa then barges into Homer’s voting booth to ask him if he has forgotten all of the happenings over the last four years. A list of many of the president’s controversial actions and remarks, ranging from calling Mexicans rapists to referring to Apple CEO Tim Cook as Tim Apple, flashes over the screen....

“We all felt the weight and responsibility to do right by this iconic source material,” Cavell said during a recent TCA panel. “I’ve never regarded ‘The Stand’ as a book about a pandemic.” For Cavell — who entered the project three years ago, well before the word “Covid” was on anyone’s lips — it’s more about the elemental struggles between good and evil. “King has been very up front about the fact that this was his attempt to do ‘Lord of the Rings’ in America,” he said....

The musical premiered mere days after the death of Stephen Sondheim (who wrote the lyrics for the original production, with a book by Arthur Laurents and score by Leonard Bernstein) at the age of 91. Highest praise for the new film version came from the composer himself, who back in September dropped by “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” to talk about the most recent stage production of “Company” and, of course, Spielberg’s movie....
